Summer Reading Challenge 2022

Now through August 13, all patrons are encouraged to participate in this year's summer reading challenge, which highlights kindness and community. Read for a chance to win cool prizes. View summer reading prizes in the Youth Room display case! #RHPLReads

Community & Kindness Through Art at RHPL

Visit the Youth Room to write a message of hope, a dream, or a wish on a colorful ribbon. RHPL staff will tie the ribbons to one of two garden arbors located outside of the library. The goal is to fill both arbors with colorful ribbons by the end of Summer Reading in mid-August.

RHPL Announces New Electronic Content for Patrons

Alongside The Library Network and the Lakeland Library Cooperative, RHPL is proud to announce the receipt of new digital content and programming tools made available through two American Rescue Plan Act (APRA) grants. RHPL has new content for patrons in the following areas: Audio & eBooks through OverDrive/Libby featuring content in education, health, job-seeking skills, and workforce development.

Book Peddler

RHPL's Book Bike will be at the Downtown Rochester Farmer’s Market on Saturday, July 23, and at Wet & Wild at the Rochester Hills Museum on July 6, 13, and 20. Stop by, say hi, and check out a book!

Friends of RHPL Used Book Sale

Friends' Summer Used Book Sale begins with a Members-Only Night on Wednesday, July 27, 5:30-8 p.m. Nonmembers may purchase a Friends membership at the door. Public sale hours are Thursday, July 28, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday, July 29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Monday (Bag Day), August 1, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Genealogy Club
July 9, 2 p.m. Conference Room B.
An expert genealogy volunteer provides tips to help you build a family tree. Learn, ask questions, and share your findings with others. There are virtual and in-person options for this meeting.
