Clawson, MI – The Clawson Votes Matter Task Force is calling all residents to join them for a powerful evening of information, community, and advocacy at their Open House and Informative Mixer on Tuesday, May 27 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Three Cats Restaurant, 116 W. 14 Mile Road in Clawson.
The event is a direct response to growing concern that Clawson city officials are ignoring the outcome of the November 2023 election, when a clear majority of residents voted YES to allow cannabis retail in Clawson. Despite the democratic decision, city leadership has stalled implementation and allowed a large corporation to sue and intimidate the city in an attempt to overturn the will of the voters.
“This isn’t about cannabis anymore—this is about democracy,” said Sam Paulus, a Clawson Votes Matter spokesperson. “We are calling on our mayor and city council to do their jobs and carry out the directive of the people. The residents of Clawson voted, and we expect our voices to be heard and respected.”
Residents are invited to enjoy small plates and appetizers, meet the Clawson Votes Matter team, and learn how to stay informed and take action to hold city officials accountable. The evening will include opportunities to sign up for volunteer initiatives, share stories, and join a growing coalition of concerned citizens demanding transparency, integrity, and follow-through from local leadership.
This is your city. This is your vote. This is your voice.
Join us May 27 and make sure Clawson officials DO THEIR JOB.
