Catholic Foundation of Michigan Hosts First “Igniting Our Future” Gala

Detroit, MI – The Catholic Foundation of Michigan invites the community to join in an evening of hope, faith, and impactful giving at their first Igniting Our Future Gala on October 3 at Detroit’s One Campus Martius. This event is an opportunity to be a part of creating a legacy of support for youth across Michigan.

The Igniting Our Future Gala celebrates the work accomplished since the Foundation’s inception in 2017 and ensures the Catholic Foundation of Michigan has an endowed fund dedicated to bringing families to faith through education and helping parents give their children a safe, faith-led education. It is a chance to be a beacon of hope and faith for those who need it most.

“We want our community to know and see that our faith is dynamic, generous and comprehensive,” said Catholic Foundation of Michigan President and CEO Angela Moloney.

“Each of us play an important part in the critical role that Catholic education provides our community. The dollars raised at our inaugural gala will help youth in their most crucial moments—offering stability for children during transitional experiences, ensuring that all students have access to Catholic schools, and keeping faith-based schools and programming open in underserved communities.”

The Catholic Foundation of Michigan was founded in 2017 on a core belief once stated by St. Katharine Drexel, “Out of our common todays and yesterdays, we are building for eternity. No thought, no work of ours ever dies. We shall meet them all again, and in the schools, churches, and youth programs.”

Since its founding, Catholic Foundation has distributed more than $25 million in grants to the community. Endowed youth programming funds empower Catholic Foundation of Michigan to provide scholarships, support educators, and ensure that Catholic education remains accessible to all families in Michigan.

The Ignite Our Future gala is much more than a celebration of past achievements; it is a call to action for those who believe in “supporting the person, supporting the mission,” and creating a lasting legacy for future generations of faith leaders.

The Catholic Foundation of Michigan’s mission is to inspire charitable giving and assist donors in investing in the future of Catholic parishes, schools, and nonprofit organizations. The Igniting Our Future Gala empowers every attendee and supporter to be a part of God’s hands and feet in the world.

The Igniting Out Future Gala will be held on October 3 from 6-10pm at One Campus Martius. Tickets are on sale now. Individual tickets are $250 and include a cocktail reception prior to the main event. Sponsorships and table reservations are also available.
