Rochester City Beautiful Commission is hosting a dog wash to raise funs for community beautification.
From 9-11am on Saturday, July 23, the dog wash will take place on the west side of Rochester City Hall in the grassy area. The dogs will start with a sudsy bath, with high-end shampoo donated by Urban Dog, while their owner sits in a chair next to them with their dog on a leash. Then the dogs will be rinsed and dried off with a towel and given a treat (with permission of course). Lastly, a bandana will be tied onto the dog’s collar or neck.
They are asking for a minimum donation of $9.99, which may be paid in person or online. In order to be organized and ready with enough volunteers, they are pre-scheduling two dogs every 15 minutes, which can be altered as demand increases. More details are on the CBC Facebook Event Page. Pick a time slot at Calendly Signup. Walk-ups available as well. A pet park permit is NOT needed.
As an added bonus, participants, or just people stopping by to see the cute pups and donating at least $9.99, may write their first name and phone number on a piece of paper to go into a jar to win a Doggie Door Prize consisting of a basket of dog goodies generously donated by Urban Dog.
The CBC is hosting this special event to support the existing and new pollinator gardens in the parks and other parts of the city. These initiatives need fundraising to supplement the allocated revenue from the city. 100% of the proceeds from the dog wash will go towards these.
Email cbc@rochestermi.org and the chairperson will respond by answering any questions.
