Rochester’s Founder’s Day to be held at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm

The Rochester Historical Commission will celebrate Founder’s Day that commemorates the arrival of James Graham with his sons on March 17th, 1817 to the area we now know as Rochester, Michigan. They were pioneer settlers who established Rochester as the first European settlement in Oakland County. The celebration will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Calf Barn at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. You are cordially invited to join us. This year’s celebration will include local authors and historical organizations and showcase the Shannon Irish Dance Academy. Bagpiper Yolanda McDonald will perform during guest's arrival prior to the program.

Rochester Hills Museum Manager Patrick McKay will present “Stoney Creek Village – A Bicentennial Celebration 1823 - 2023” exploring the area’s history of water powered mills, inventors, politicians, soldiers, and rural architecture.

The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is located at 1005 Van Hoosen Road, Rochester Hills, Michigan. It is located off Tienken Road between Rochester and Dequindre Roads.
