44th Annual NFL Alumni Detroit Charity Golf Classic is coming to Wabeek Country Club

The NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter 44th Annual Charity Golf Classic benefitting Detroit area student scholarships takes place Monday, June 26, at Wabeek Country Club in Bloomfield Township.

Presented by Exchange Bar and Grill in Northville, the NFL Alumni Chapter of Detroit is proud to share this event with the community. Event registration and a complimentary breakfast begins at 8:30am with a shotgun start following at 10am.

“This event is not only fun, but it is critical to help student-athletes reach their athletic and academic potential,” said Pete Chryplewicz, NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter president and Golf Classic Chair. “This event impacts our community, and we are proud to bring it back again this year.”

The NFL Alumni Association supports the community through a variety of initiatives, but the Super Bowl of Golf is the non-profit organization’s cornerstone event. In addition, thanks to the generosity of previous supporters, more than 30 high school student-athletes with college scholarships from Wayne County have been given scholarships since 2012.

This year, NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter honors Alumni of the Year, Mike Martin. A U of M graduate, Martin entered the NFL as an 82nd overall draft pick in the 2012 Draft. Martin is a proud Detroit native Martin and currently lives in Detroit with his family.

The Golf Classic is also a qualifier for the 2024 NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf, a national event that features a 3-day trip to compete in one of the most noteworthy golf events in the U.S. Stay tuned – the date and location of that event are still being finalized!

This exciting event allows participants to mix and mingle with some of their favorite NFL alums, at dinner starting at 4pm. Guests will also enjoy a premium open bar, lunch and dinner, silent auction, games, swag bags and – most importantly – raising money to help the community.
