The NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter extends its heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors and attendees who contributed to the resounding success of the 44th Annual Charity Golf Classic. The event, held on Monday, June 26, at Wabeek Country Club in Bloomfield Township, raised over $100,000 in funds for its fourth consecutive year. This significant achievement allowed 11 deserving Michigan student-athletes to each receive a $2,500 college scholarship from the NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter.

Presented by Exchange Bar and Grill in Northville, the NFL Alumni Chapter of Detroit takes immense pride in organizing this event and sharing it with the local community.

Pete Chryplewicz, President of the NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter and Chair of the Golf Classic, emphasized the event's dual purpose: "Even with the turmoil of Michigan’s weather this year, this event is not only fun, but it is critical to help student-athletes reach their athletic and academic potential. Its impact on our community is profound, and we are proud to bring it back again this year."

Over the years, thanks to the incredible generosity of previous supporters, more than 30 high school student-athletes from Wayne County have been awarded college scholarships since 2012.

NFL Alumni Association Detroit Chapter was also honored to recognize Mike Martin, a distinguished U of M graduate, as the Alumni of the Year. Drafted 82nd overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, Martin, a proud Detroit native, currently resides in Detroit with his family.
