Novi Community Coalition Announces the Second Annual Parent Camp in Partnership with the Novi Education Foundation
The Novi Community Coalition invites the community to the much-anticipated second annual Parent Camp. Organized by the Novi Mental Health Alliance, the event will take place Saturday, September 16, at Novi High School.
Parent Camp is joining hands with the Novi Education Foundation's annual pancake breakfast. To make the event more convenient for parents, complimentary childcare services will be provided for children aged 3 and above.
Highlighting the event is the keynote address by acclaimed author, Hunter Clarke-Fields. Known for her bestsellers "Raising Good Humans: A Mindful Guide to Breaking the Cycle of Reactive Parenting" and "Raising Kind, Confident Kids," Clarke-Fields is sure to impart invaluable wisdom. Following her session, attendees can look forward to a slew of breakout sessions covering pertinent topics such as Anxiety and Depression, Mental Health in the Asian American Community, Social Media and its Influence on Kids, Bullying, Strategies for Raising Healthy and High-Performing Kids, Effective Family Communication, and a deep dive into the pressing issues of Vaping and Substance Use.
Crafted with the intent of resonating with parents of children from all age groups, these sessions aim to offer crucial insights and actionable strategies.
All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Novi Education Foundation (NEF). In the previous year, the NEF generously awarded grants to 30 classrooms, culminating in a magnificent total donation of $44,690. Some notable projects funded by these grants include the "What A Pickel" pickleball equipment at Novi High School, the heartwarming "A Hug in the Mug" coffee cart at Novi Woods, and the invaluable "Ecosystem Research Project Resources" at Novi Meadows.
Registration is currently open on the NEF Website. However, those who prefer in-person registration can do so at the door on the morning of September 16.
