Waterford Community Coalition Brings Together ACE's Summit to Address Adverse Childhood Experiences

WATERFORD, MI - The Waterford Community Coalition announces "Bring Together ACE's Summit" - a community event aimed at raising awareness and understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their profound impact on individuals. This event will feature leading experts sharing the latest information on ACEs, fostering discussions on resiliency, self-healing challenges, trauma-informed care, and actionable steps community members can take to address this critical issue.

ACEs are adverse events occurring in childhood that have been linked to a wide range of health and social problems throughout a person's life. The Waterford Community Coalition is dedicated to equipping our community with the knowledge and tools to mitigate the effects of ACEs and foster healthier, more resilient individuals and communities.

Key highlights of the event include:

  1. Live Stream Presentation: Dr. Robert Anda, Co-Principal Investigator of the ACEs Study, and Laura Porter, Co-Founder of ACE Interface, will be delivering a live-streamed presentation. Dr. Anda's extensive research has significantly contributed to our understanding of ACEs, and Laura Porter's work has been instrumental in developing effective strategies for addressing ACEs at the community level.
  2. Informative Sessions: Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in informative sessions that explore the impact of ACEs on individuals and communities, discuss resilience-building strategies, and delve into trauma-informed care practices.
  3. Continuing Education: This event qualifies for a maximum of 5.5 Continuing Education hours, making it a valuable opportunity for professionals in various fields to enhance their knowledge and skills in addressing ACEs.
  4. Community Involvement: The Bring Together ACE's Summit is open to everyone, emphasizing the importance of community-wide engagement in addressing this critical issue. By coming together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by ACEs.
  5. Lunch Provided: A complimentary lunch will be provided to all registered attendees to facilitate networking and discussions.
