Rochester, Mich.---June 28, 2022---Dedicated to promoting creativity and artistic excellence by offering a full range of cultural and educational programs throughout the year, Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) is gearing up for its annual Art & Apples Festival® September 9–11, 2022, through the generous support of presenting sponsor Genisys Credit Union. A juried group of 250 skilled artists and artisans along with more than 80,000 attendees are expected to converge in sprawling Rochester Municipal Park, near downtown Rochester, for a three-day celebration of fine art. In addition to finding one-of-a-kind art pieces to purchase, there will be live performances from community music and dance groups, food vendors offering a wide array of tasty options, the Meijer Kids Art Zone offering children’s art activities, and the Creation Station featuring live art-making demonstrations.

According to Shaun Hayes, Executive Director of Paint Creek Center for the Arts, the Art & Apples Festival is not only acclaimed by the artists—many of whom travel from out-of-state to participate in this show–but also beloved by the community as an annual tradition. Last year, the festival was scaled back a bit, returning after a pandemic year as venues were gradually re-opening. This year, Art & Apples will be full speed ahead.

“Our Art & Apples Festival has always been uniquely positioned as a combination of art and community—and many artists and festival-goers return year after year for this awaited homecoming,” Hayes said. “We are continually recognized for the popularity of our show and the caliber of the fine art presented; in fact, we are proud to be ranked ninth on the list of 200 Best Fine Art and Design Shows for the decade of 2010–2020 by Sunshine Artist magazine. We are also grateful for our presenting sponsor this year, Genisys Credit Union, and look forward to another successful festival on all fronts.”

Now in its 56th year, Art & Apples serves as the PCCA’s signature fundraiser to support the nonprofit organization’s art classes for kids and adults, free art exhibitions, the Art Market exclusively featuring local Michigan artists’ work, summer camps, and community outreach through its Art Anywhere program. A suggested $5 donation per person will be accepted at each of the festival’s entrances, and in turn, PCCA shares a portion of these donations with the other area nonprofits and community ‘gate groups greeting festival-goers.

Art & Apples will open on Friday, September 9 from 2 p.m.–7:30 p.m. in Rochester Municipal Park and continue on Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m.–7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 11 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. More information about the festival can be found on the website at https://www.pccart.org/festival/.
